请问皮老师／兔姐：AP影响H1B延期的批准吗？

I plan to take vacation in China this May. However, my H1B will expire on Aug 31 (first 3 years) and I have to extend it. I asked
human resource about when I should apply for the extension and was told that I better start it in April. My questions are:
1) if I file my application for H1B extension and then come back with my AP, will my H1B extension get approved?
2)Do I need bring the receive notice (H1B extension) with me when come back to US?
