驾照延期 & H1B 延期

Last time 驾照延期, DMV only 给到 one day before my H1B expire date. Now, my H1B 延期 is in process and may pending for months. HR and lawyer told me that I can work up to two-hundred days. However, will DMV give me the same policy? Anyone here has the same experience or knows how to deal with it? Thanks!
