Help! Cannot apply for H1B while 485 pending?!

Hi,

I have filled I485. (My hu*****and is the primary applicant.) However, the case has been stuck at FBI for more than 2 years. I have recently got a job so I want to apply for H1B. The laywer of my employer claims that it cannot be done. See the follow message:

"She cannot obtain H-1B for the first time during the adjustment of
status process. If she wants to be separate from her hu*****and, she would
have to withdraw her pending adjustment of status and THEN file for
concurrent H-1B's. "

Is this true?
