What should I do? -- H1-B Expires this December, New job will st

Looking for help!

My H-1B will expire on 12/31/2007 and my current job ends on the same date. My new job won't start until 06/2007. It is a half year gap.

I-485 is pending. I got my EAD already and had my fingerprint taken last month.

Will there be any risk for my I-485 approval due to the time gap without a job? Can I do some non-pay volunteer work in other fields?
