H1B, I-485 pending, used AP this summer, more ....

I worked using H1B1 before I went to China this summer.
I used AP to come back to US this summer while my EB1b based I-485 is pending. My wife did not travel. She has also filed I-485 with me and it is still pending. Since I used AP, my current status is parolee, not H1B1. My question is: What was the status of my wife for the 12 days of period when I was in China? What is my wife's corrent status? Parolee? Still H4? Or AOS?

My H1B1 expiration date is 3/31/2008. Do I need to extend H1B1? As I know, after I file extention of H1B1, my status will change back from parolee to H1B1.
