Now background changed:
My H-1 started on 10/1/2002 with company A, I transferred to Company B on 9/13/2004 which expires on 9/12/2007. I am extending my H-1 today, how long can I get?

Unless you specifically request your H-1 expires on 9/30/2008, you may be granted 3 years if your attorney fills 9/11/2010 as expiration.

I have seen this happened, and that's why I warned "如果你在 H-1 其间跳槽频频，你的最后一个 H-1 的有效期可能会超出六年期限。注意，即使 USCIS 犯了这个错误，你也不能将错就错。你仍然受限于六年规定。"

Even your H-1 is granted through 9/11/2010, working beyond 9/30/08 will qualify you under unauthorized work, which hurts GC finally.
