pjiang, please let help me with H1B question

I filed H1b renewal on July 6, 2007. While my 485 is pending, I used AP twiice. My old H1b is going to expaire on August 15, 2007. I have never changed jobs. If I don't receive the renewed one on August 15, can I still work? Thank you very much for your expertise.
