If your I-485 is denied (though the chance is slim), you still can keep your H-1b.

Once you use EAD and AP, your H-1b will no longer be valid. Therefore, is your I-485 is denied, you have no valid status in US. On the other words, you have to leave and reapply H-1 outside US.
