10 days means that if you find a job will be not out of status. 180 days means that you can switch from one job to another after out of status, and it means that you find a job without getting visa from your home country even you are out of status. However, if the accumilate days is over 180 days within your H1b 6 years period, you must be back to home country without enter America from three years to ten years.
