HELP! question about H1B transfer

I am informed by the company that I would be laid off on Oct 13. Another company promised to give me a offer on Oct 02. I will accept it right after I get it. I am holding H1B visa right now. So H1B should be transfered by the new company. This company is kind of big. So it will require a lot of process like background check, reference/credit check and physical & drug test before they start to transfer my H1B. I am afraid this process may take more that 2 weeks which will start after Oct. 13. I am afaid I will lose my status after Oct 13 even the new company will transfer my H1B very soon. What should I do if the company cannot *****umit the H1B transfer before Oct 13? Actually I will not get the last pay stub unitil Oct 20. Can anyone answer me this question?
