You can start a H1-B transfer right now, so you will have no problem to provide recent pay stubs. Even in the worst case, CIS officers found the GAP, Most CIS officers still approve H1 transfer with a GAP up to 2 months. In addition, if you can work out a leave without pay with your current employer, you will be OK.
