LC approved, H1B extension pending

Could anyone please advice on the following? My LC has just been approved but my current H1B expires at the end of July; H1B extension has been filed but not approved yet. Since it takes some time to out together 140 and 485 materials, is it OK to file 140 and 485 in August with a pending H1B extension? Thanks a bunch!
