EDD unpaid family leave for H1Ber and GC applier

I am H1Ber and my company is applying green card for me. (EB3, still stucks in LC backlog Phil center).

Now I am thinking of take some unpaid family leave ( up to 6 weeks ) to take care of my newborn.

Is it allowed by INS and has little adverse effect on my green card application?
