pros and cons to extend H1B beyond 6 years

I-485 has been pending for about 10 months since I-140 was approved.
Have EAD card although I haven't used it. I run out of 6 years H visa very soon.

Should I renew H-1B or use EAD card instead? What is the pros and cons in either way?
