How to come from China back to USA with H1B visa

I hold an H-1B visa. I want to go back to China. What documents should I bring with me so that I can come back to USA.
ANother thing is that my greencard application is pending and I just got my I140 approved. Does this help with my returning to USA? I don't have AP.
