Help! H1b transfered, can i work in the old place for a while?

最近换工作，刚刚apply H1 transfer, starting from Feb. 10., 但有事不能按时过去。请问是否可以在原单位继续工作一段时间（old h1 end at the end of 2006) or 必需去新工作处报到？
