H1B是否会因为我长期呆在中国而失效？如果我经常回来美国呢？
I-797 will be valid. And you need a valid H1 visa stamp to enter US. And each time you enter US, you will be issued an H1 I-94 which is the proof of your H1 status in US. When you are not in US, I-94 is useless because you don't need a US status (valid I-94) in China.
2. yes, immigration petition is not related to your visa status or whether you are in US. Your wife can get H4.
3. no, you need to remain in US while AP is processed for that AP to be valid.
4. SSN is still valid and not related to your US visa status or whether you are in US.
