Social Security Tax of H1Bers

My H1B status became effective a few months ago, but I have just realized that my payrolls are not being deducted for social security taxes. No one has told me to do so. I am going to apply for the Labor Certification/Green Card. Will the fact that I didn't pay those taxes for the past months affect my application? Should I ask to pay social security taxes for the past months now?
