Do I need apply for H1b again?

I am working on an university as a statistical programmer currently and have H1b vias for that position. Now I am moving onto another postion biostatistician. The two postions are in the same place and there is no much difference on the job duty, but the position title is different as you see. The international office said I need to appy a H1b visa again. Is this correct? Thanks
