G&M’s reports about this riot are biased and misleading, like most of its China reports. Last year, G&M put photos of Nepal police cracking down Tibetan protests and misled public as Chinese police. This time, the victims are obviously Han Chinese, G&M did not display any of their photos. Instead, they displayed a photo of Uyghurs women crying for their arrested men.

Here is a link of the photos of victims:

To be honest, this violence reflected the ethnical conflicts between Uyghurs and Han. Like in any country, ethnical conflicts are always complicated and difficulty to comprehend, especially for foreigners. Everybody can have his/her opinions about an ethnical issue, but the bottom line is that we should not side with terrorists and criminal. America’s Muslim world policies are controversial, but we cannot side with 911 attackers. India’s domestic ethnical and religious issues can be discussed, but we cannot side with terrorists attacking Mumbai. Because the terrorists attacked innocent civilians and violated the basic human moral.

Uyghurs Chinese or Han Chinese, it doesn't matter. We should condemn terrorism and violence, no matter from which ethnic group. In G&M’s reports we could not find any sympathy towards Han victims. Instead, criminals and their families became victims.

I am very disappointed that G&M cannot maintain a basic moral standard and professional ethics.

G&M always pretend they are spokesperson for Chinese human rights. Do they really care of normal Chinese interests and rights?
