Both should be OK. But you still need 25k to day-trade

IB's margin will not lend you money, but will give you unlimited trading activities if your equity is more than 25k. Very few people have 25k in their Roth-IRA accounts (I do have more than 25k in my Roth account). That's how you draw your conclusion.
