Global markets reeled and President Trump suggested he would find “alternatives” after the Supreme Court ruled on Friday against his 10% worldwide tariffs, a landmark policy.

• The ruling: In a rare setback for Trump’s agenda, the Supreme Court overturned most of his sweeping tariffs, saying that he had overstepped by using a national emergency law to impose them. Here’s what it means for the economy — and your wallet. 

• Response: Trump called the justices a “disgrace to our nation” and on Saturday announced a 150-day 15% worldwide tariff under a statute that allows the president to address trade deficits. “We have alternatives,” he said. “Great alternatives.”
