POWELL SEES 'NO RISK-FREE' PATH

 

The Federal Reserve's so-called "dot plot" showed just one rate cut through the end of 2026 after its third rate cut in 2025 Wednesday.

 

Fed Chair Powell noted that median GDP projection for next year was somewhat higher than expected in September. Inflation remained somewhat elevated while there were indications of a "softer labor market," Powell said.

 

He added goods inflation had picked up, reflecting tariff pressures. Powell repeated the lack of a "risk-free path" for monetary policy.
