DJ Fed Removes a Projected 2026 Cut -- Market Talk

1405 ET - The Fed's latest dot plot features one fewer interest-rate cut projected over the next 18 months. The median Fed official still expects two rate cuts in 2025--unchanged from the March projection. But the dot plot now anticipates rates falling to 3.6% by the end of 2026, or three quarter-point cuts versus the current level of 4.25% to 4.5%. In March, Fed officials at the median anticipated four cuts by the end of next year. The new dot plot suggests Fed officials now see slower GDP growth, higher unemployment and more inflation this year versus the previous projection. ([e-mail], @mattgrossman)
