a few words about CPI

1. what went up:  food price went up, both food at home and food away from home;

                             electricity went up a lot.

2. what went down: oil and gas

 

core

what went up:  shelter (housing), medical cost;

what went down: both new car and used car (this is a big positive surprise--a lot of people were expecting they would went up due to  tariff) and transportation.

 

In short, the low income households may feel a little more uneasy. 

Of course, those are fleeting, may change in next report.
