US stock futures steadied on Tuesday after the major averages suffered heavy losses in the first trading day of the week.

In regular trading on Monday, the Dow fell 0.65% for its sixth straight down day.

The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite also dropped 1.2% and 1.79%, respectively, extending their losses for a second day and closing below their 50-day moving averages for the first time since early November. （第一次收在50ma以下）

Those moves came as Treasury yields rallied on bets that the Federal Reserve will keep interest rates higher for longer.

The benchmark 10-year US yield topped 4.6%, its highest level since November.

Escalating tensions in the Middle East also hurt market sentiment after Iran launched a large-scale airstrike against Israel on Saturday.

Meanwhile, robust US retail sales data and strong earnings from Goldman Sachs provided some support.

Investors now look ahead to earnings reports from Bank of America, Morgan Stanley and United Airlines, among others, on Tuesday.
