经过各种考虑, 决定不做home office deduction了.
但deduct 各种business related expense, like furnitures, computer, software, books, magazines, business meal, office supplies, etc.
I think this will make things easier and not get audited.
Since even if I deduct homeoffice, the amount is very small. I have a 920 SQF apartment and none of my bedrooms are more than 200 SQF. So, even if I deduct, it's just 180/920 = 19.5%
My rent is just $580/month, the utility for apartment is cheap, average is about $65/month since water is free. I only get $125.6/month => $1507/year as the deduction. Not worth the risk of being auditted.
