Interesting. But in the case of your bank goes bankrupt,

most likely you will still need to pay mortgage because they will sell your mortgage to other lenders. So there is no gurantee you will be off the hook once your bank goes under.  But I do agree that investing in banking sector is a relatively safe approach though.
