有没有claim rental insurance liability成功的案例

急求建议： 由于租客导致的漏水（bath tub running for hours)；有没有claim rental insurance liability成功的案例？租客自己用电扇吹了几天目前没有拆墙。我租了dehumidifier and dry fan (第四天才开始）， 

The Tenant left bathtub running for hours; and caused damage to floors and ceilings; Estimate $ 5000 to 7000 damage; Trying to file under renter insurance liability claim; Lemonade has gosted us for a few days; still no adjuster contacted us yet after 5th of the damage. No active leak any more. NOTE: I cannot file owner's insurance.
Tenant is Section 8; no money.
What should I do?
  1. Restoration Co to dry and repair- will be very expensive If insurance denies.
  2. Ask a contractor documents and quotes to show insurance later and start the work on our own? Charge Tenant later?
  3. Ask Public adjuster do an inspection and documents and start dry on our own?
Please help.
