Help! Change I485 from EB3 to EB2. lawyer filed I824 for me, is

EB3 I485 pending PD 5/2003, new EB2 140 just approved. My lawyer suppose to change my I485 from EB3 to EB2. He has filed a I-824 for me. Is this the right form to file? I found out I-824 is normally used to change from change of status to consular processing.
