Help please, dilemma of EB-1B Priority Date.

If I submit EB-1B I-140 now, it is current, and I will wait several months to get it approved, but by then , it is not current any more based on many’s prediction, Can I still submit I-485 based on my I-140 submitting date (it is current now, not in the future)?

Or in another word, I must submit my I-140 and I -485 together now when it is current. Thanks.
