why so many EB1/EB2NIW on this forum are expecting 485?

my understanding is that after retrogression, for EB1/EB2NIW , 485 will be something after 4 or 5 years, why so many people here keep asking update on 485? what I see here, most of people filed concurrently before Oct 1, why so many people worry their 140 or 485? I know most of my friend got 140 approved, but there are some 485 getting denied. so 140 should be ok for EB1/EB2NIW.
Please correct me if I ma wrong
