485RFE, now EAD and AP

We replied our I485 RFE recently and on April 21 we got e-mail notice that they have received them. For the 485 RFE, they asked for our I-20 forms, pay stubs, tax return and employment letter. But today I got another batch of e-mail notice asking for RFE for our AP and EAD applications that were filed in Feb. Isn't this something weired? What is going on?! Anyone had similar experience? Our current EAD card will expire at the end of May. Hopefully we can get this whole thing over by then.
