485pending, 用过一次AP，没有EAD. AP下月过期，H1今年十月过期，需要办吗？

朋友是在大学的博后,485pending, 用过一次AP，没有EAD. AP下月过期，H1今年十月过期。 用过AP, 身份就变成AOS了,那末AP过期后算不算out of status? 需要办EAD吗? 还是需要提前延H1B? 谢谢大家了!
