EAD renew in laidoff situation?

Hi, guys,

I have some questions on EAD renew.

I got laid off a few months ago and my EAD card will expire the end of this year. I am currently actively looking for new job. I am wondering whether I can file EAD renew without a job and what the risks could be.

You inputs are really appreciated.
