After you used EAD, your status is AOS, not H1. Only if your current status is H1, you can get H1 visa to come back without affecting your I-485. In other words, if your current status is not h1 (e.g. AOS), you can only use AP for the international travel, otherwise your I-485 will be invalid when you leave U.S.
