please help on RFE to EAD filed with 485

EAD application was file with 485 on August 1 2008. In the package, copies
of passport, I-20 forms, birth certificate and marriage certificate, I-94,
F1/F2/H4 visas were all included. Today I received a letter from USCIS
stating that:

You failed to submit a photocopy of an identity document with Form I-765.
Therefore, please submit a photocopy (front and back) of a phto indetity
document. The indetity document must clearly show your facial features and
biographical information.

You must submit the requested information within thirty days from the day of
this letter. Failure to do so may result in the denial of your petition.

my questions are:
1. Does USCIS want another copy of passport?
2. Or they want a copy of previous EAD, but I don have one, this is the
first time I applied for EAD?
