Can I apply H1-B after using EAD

The company asked me to start working with EAD, meanwhile start H1-B application process, because they want me strart to work asap. H1-B application takes time. Can I go back to H1-B once start with EAD? My wife is the primary applicant for green card and her job is not very secure. So I want to stay with H1-B.

I will appreciate if you can provide knowledge on this. Thanks!
