Use EAD or Transfer H1-B - continue---pls HELP!!

我的情况: 485 pending 180 days, and I got AP and EAD, just used AP visiting China. My H1B will expire next summer(2009).
我想换工作， 在现公司实在待不下去。 可是真好碰上经济衰退。（我怎么这么倒霉阿， 毕业时碰上911， 现在。。。唉。。。命啊）。 猎头跟我说用EAD容易找工作，很多雇主不sponsor H1 now. My EAD will expire in Oct, 2008. What should I do? From the reading on the board, I know I can renew the EAD by myself without asking my current employer. I guess that's my last choice. correct me if I am wrong.

Another question, with EAD, can I quit my job and move to another city first. Then start to look for a new job? Please help ah!!!! Thanks much!
