EAD --> H1

Hi HHs,

My wife was H4 and then used EAD(I485) to work. Now she wanted to apply for H1. The atterney said there are two options, one is "change of status" and another is "port of entry". According to him, "change of status" will get rejected. The only option will be "port of entry". Is it true?

Thanks a lot if you could share your knowledge or experience.
