1) After OPT, you don't COS to H-4, you will be AOS
2) After you use AP, you will be AOS
3) When you use EAD after OPT, you will be AOS

If you are AOS, when your H-1 is approved, most likely you will need to get a visa. Doing so has no adverse effect on your I-485.
