Help for EAD renewing

I sent my EAD renewing application 3-4 weeks based on pending I485 (which has been pending for almost 3 years now) and got the receipt notice on Dec 7. My EAD will expire in Dec 29. Can I still work after that if I still haven't got my new EAD by that time? Thanks.
