xiaobaitu,Pjiang,radiology EAD question Help please!!

I filed I-485 and I-765 in July 07. My wife got her EAD card on 10/6/07 and my case did not get any update since 9/26/07. I called USCIS today and was informed that the FBI is doing name check on my case. Is that normal for EAD application? How long it will take? This is really frustration.
