EAD also need FP? IS this new?

I-485 based EAD need do FP? Anyone applied EAD this year got FP notice? I send the paper application in March, and called TSC today and be told I need do FP first. I never heared EAD application needs do FP, is this new for this year? Just wondering if the infomation I got is correct. Thanks for sharing.
