Is it safe to use EAD after I-140 approving, I-485 RFE?

I will tranfer from one university to another university. Is it safe to use EAD? my current situation: I-140 approved, I-485 has been asked to provide RFE. I was under name check. ANy good suggestion? Thank you in advance
