Question on the H-1B and EAD!!!

My current H-1b will be expired on June 30 of 2007. I will move to the new job on September of 2007. I am planning to use my EAD (from NIW pending I-485) from July to September. Because the current employee doesn't want to extend the current H-1b.
The new employer is will to the H-1b extension before the H-1b expiration date.
Can I maintain the H-1b status after I use the EAD for 2 months. Is there any suggestion? I must keep my I-485 in good shape.
