博士后转工业界，可否用I485的EAD补H1b签证gap？

H1b签证10月才生效，要想在此前工作，可否采用如下方式：
file I485 & EAD (I140 EB1a pending), and then work with EAD

具体怎样做最好？可否现在仅file我本人485&EAD，family members滞后？
这样减少I140被据的risk. 多谢指点。
