can I stay in usa with EAD , but without job

thanks a lot ,one more question if I have EAD ,but have got a new job , can we stay in usa for a while ,I just renewed my H1 in Jan , my old H1 will be expired in July .can I apply both EAD and H1 renew at the same time ? thank you so much
