用了EAD，没有离境直接申请获得的　H1B　有效么？

I submitted 485 when I was an F1 student. After I graduated, I went back to china by use of AP. Then I used the EAD ( from 485) to work. After 2 months (in June), my company applied the H1b for me and it got approved several days ago. My question is : Is my H1b valid? I heard that I have to leave USA to apply H1b as long as I used EAD. Is any thing wrong here? Thanks in advance for your help.
