using EAD less 180 days 485 pending

my NIW 140 approved, my 485 pending less than 180 days. I have to change a boss now and use EAD. as anyone say here it is ok to use EAD while 485 pending less than 180 days if 140 application is independent petition like NIW and EB1.
want to make sure: is that right?
